PETER Harradine claimed the bragging rights in Wednesday’s Barnton and Frodsham AC’s match on Heesoms Pool.

Harradine reeled in 27-1-0 of crucians and skimmers, off peg 3 and all taken on pellet presented on the pole at three metres close to an overhanging tree. Second was Arthur Kenney, peg 27, with 26-14-0 of skimmers, all tempted by pellet and caster at six metres. The frame was completed by Mike Smith, peg four with 20-15-0.

The final match of the Junior’s Summer Series was held at the Junior Cistern on Thursday morning. Again, no anglers turned up for the eight to 12 years group. In the 13 to 16 years section Ben Moores claimed the maximum points on offer with 3-9-0 of rudd and roach, plus a common carp of around 2½lbs. Jamie Ralphs was second with 3-2-0 and in third place was Mathew Ayres with 2-0-0. The overall winner of the 13-16 years section was Mathew Ayres who finished the Series with 46 points and the runner-up was Ben Moores with 42 and third was Gareth Evans with 36.

On Saturday morning, Heesom’s Pool was the venue for the Terry Heath Memorial Open match in aid of St. Luke’s Hospice. A good week continued for Peter Harradine who secured the top pay out with 25-11-0 of crucians, skimmers and a couple of tench. Drawn on peg 22, Peter took all of his fish on pellet at five metres. Terry Archer, peg 26, was second with 23-7-0 of skimmers and crucians taken on pellet at five metres and in third place was Peter Moore, peg 30, with 17-12-0 of skimmers, crucians and tench.

The club’s last match of the week was on Sunday on the Red Lion, Barnton, stretch of the Weaver. Arthur Kenney fished red maggot on the pole for 6-1-0 of roach.
