A CIVIC leader is furious his town has been left off a glossy tourist leaflet.
Mayor of Saltney, Klaus Armstrong-Braun, is incensed the town has not been included in the new Wander and Wonder attractions guide published jointly by Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham councils which is promoted as a guide to the best the three counties have to offer
He said: “I’m very angry about this omission, it’s an insult to the people of Saltney.
“We have historic docks and attractive riverside walks, which are great attractions for tourists.
“As mayor I’m very proud of Saltney, so why we have been left off the new map?
“I’m demanding a full apology from the three councils and seeking an assurance all future tourist maps will include Saltney.”
A spokesman for Flintshire County Council said: “'The main intention of the map is to give visitors general assistance in locating a specific attraction and is not designed as a definitive road map.
“Not every settlement is located on the map and in general we include
places which have a known attraction or accommodation provision.
“Officers will be meeting Cllr Armstrong-Braun to discuss the matter further.”
