A HARTFORD man fought off competition from around the country to win an industry award.
Andrew Pope, 41, of Hodge Lane, who is the Co-op’s national crime partnership manager, won the award at the Security Excellence Awards 2008.
The judges said he was an important driver of the retail business crime reduction agenda.
Mr Pope, who is based in Manchester, is a married father of twin boys He is also a Vale Royal magistrate.
Among the anti-social behaviour prevention schemes he has overseen is the “It’s a Fair Co-op of Tea, Guv” where stores provide police officers with a hot drink and a chance to mix with the community.
