THE Countess of Chester Hospital and Alzheimer’s Society are working together to offer help and advice to anyone who is affected by dementia.

The Alzheimer’s Society now hosts an information stand at the hospital’s main entrance every Wednesday from 2.30-3.30pm, when volunteers are on hand to provide information and direct people to services on offer in the area.

The national charity has three offices in West Cheshire, with the most central being based at Telford Court, Chester Gates.

Diane Riley of the Alzheimer’s Society said: “Our presence at the Countess will hopefully raise the profile of dementia and allow people to access information.

“This opportunity to work with the Countess will make Alzheimer’s Society more accessible to patients, visitors and staff within the hospital.”

Claire Williams, a matron at the hospital, added: “We are very pleased to be able to help raise awareness of such an important subject.

“Dementia affects everyone in different ways so hopefully we will give Alzheimer’s Society some good exposure in order to help people who need advice and support.”
