Airbus 1 Llanelli 4

AIRBUS were left looking over their shoulders in the relegation dogfight after their five-match winning run was halted by Llanelli.

A hat-trick from the league’s top scorer Rhys Griffiths grounded the Wingmakers’ revival, leaving Gareth Owen’s side still with plenty of work ahead.

“We weren’t really at the races which you can’t afford against a professinal side and probably 4-1 was a fair reflection,” said player boss Owen.

“We had a spell when it was 3-1 when we were trying to get a second, but other than that we didn’t really perform.”

Llanelli never looked back after Griffiths opened his account on 21 minutes before the forward netted a second shortly after Jacob Mingorance’s strike.

McIntosh reduced the arrears for the hosts on 63 minutes, but Griffiths completed the scoring and his treble from a deflected shot.
