AN AIR cadet from Ellesmere Port has been selected for Officer Entry into the RAF.

Pilot Officer Chris Jacob, formerly of the 1123 (Hooton Park) Squadron Air Training Corps, was selected for the job after he attended the Officer and Aircrew Selection Centre at the RAF college in Cranwell, the oldest of its kind in the world.

He is set to pursue a career as a Fighter Control Officer.

Diane Noonan, chair of Hooton Park Squadron, said: “His dynamic presence, leadership and commitment to 1123 Squadron will be missed and 1123 Squadron’s loss is the RAF’s gain.”
