WIRRAL'S voluntary and community groups are being given the chance to talk directly to major funders about financial opportunities.
The Funders' Fair at Wirral Museum (the old Birkenhead town hall), Hamilton Square takes place from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday, April 7.
Twenty-five funders, including several major banks, the John Moores Foundation and Merseyside Objective 1, will be gathered under one roof to give information, advice and guidance. The event is free.
The day will also include morning and afternoon workshops, where funders will give organisations a more detailed insight into what they are looking for from applications and how voluntary and community organisations can maximise their chances of success.
Melanie Jones, from Wirral Council for Voluntary Service, said: "Wirral's voluntary and community groups make a massive contribution to our collective quality of life. But they have an on-going struggle to find funds.
"This event is a unique opportunity for these groups to meet the people who hold the key to starting up or continuing projects."
