Ellesmere Port Division Guide Association enjoyed a weekend at the Girl Guiding Centre in Clitheroe thanks to the generosity of Adactus Housing Association.

Nineteen young people embarked on a series of activities at Waddow Hall, including grass sledging, orienteering and survival skills, aimed at improving their self esteem and confidence.

Guide leader Debra Millican said: “We would like to give a big thank you to Adactus Housing for their funding.

“The weekend supported a number of really important outcomes for the Guides. It was lovely to see the young women grow in confidence throughout the challenges and develop their support network.”

The weekend also gave the opportunity for many of the girls to complete challenges that will enable them to become young leaders for their local guide units and thereby assist in continuing the success of the Girl Guide Association.

Laura Reynolds, neighbourhood development officer at Adactus Housing, added: “It’s fantastic that we were able to support the Guides in this way and we wish the young leaders all the success in their new roles.”
