POLICE who searched a Wrexham man found heroin hidden between his buttocks.

Michael Neal Roberts, 29, of Y Wern, Wrexham, admitted possessing the class A drug when he appeared at Flintshire Magistrates Court at Mold.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Wrexham Magistrates Court, where he is due to appear on other offences.

Huw Evans, prosecuting, told the court police went to execute a 'failing to appear' warrant on Roberts.

He was arrested and it was quite clear on arrest he had something hidden between his buttocks. When it was removed it was found to be a plastic package containing heroin.

Interviewed, he said he panicked when he saw the police arriving and had hidden the package of heroin.

Roberts, who said he had paid £60 for it and that it would have lasted him a week, explained he had been addicted to heroin since the age of 16.

Bethan Jones, defending, said her client had not been in trouble for two years, which was worthy of note given his addiction.
