A PROFESSIONAL theatre company in Ellesmere Port will launch its latest writing and performance project on Saturday.
Action Transport Theatre will mark the launch of Four For The Port with an ‘Inspiration Day’ at Whitby Hall between 11am and 5pm for young and emerging writers interested in writing their own short play for young people.
Following the event, writers will be asked to pitch an idea for a new play to the company and four of the best will be chosen to professionally produce over the coming year.
Supported for the eighth year in a row by Shell UK, the project will bring together four talented writers with a specially selected local Young Actors company.
Action Transport Theatre is also currently looking to recruit committed and highly motivated young actors aged 11– 25 whoŠwill work with the four writers to help develop their plays, and will then go on to perform them as part of the Shell Chester Literature Festival in October 2010.
Associate director Nina Hajiyianni said: “This opportunity will allow the writers and young actors a professional experience of working closely with an award winning professional new writing company and will pave the way for their own professional development in the future.”
If you are interested in becoming part of the Young Actors company there is a taster session taking place on Tuesday, November 17 at Whitby Hall between 6-8pm.
To book on either session contact Jess Egan, producer at Action Transport Theatre, on 0151 357 2120 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
