Hot on the heels of the business success of Year 6 pupils at Abbey Gate College, the Lower Sixth Young Enterprise group has demonstrated its star quality.

The team, called Wolf Tales, was joined by its Barclays business advisor, Sarah Challiner, to celebrate their win in the Cheshire West and Chester Area Young Enterprise Final.

The group is now through to the Cheshire and Warrington County Final on Tuesday, May 6, at Daresbury Laboratories near Runcorn after beating nine other teams.

They were also awarded first place in an additional competition for the quality of their trade stand.

The group is passionate about encouraging learning to read through creativity and play and they have devised, illustrated and printed their own book, 'Candy Floss Clouds', which is aimed at four to eight-year-olds, with the central character being a girl called Abbey Gate.

All proceeds from sales of the book are going to a local children’s charity, Stick’n’Step.

Wolf Tales will be competing against winning companies from the Warrington and Cheshire East area boards for a place to represent Cheshire and Warrington at the North West Final.
