ABBA fans can enjoy an outdoor party picnic at Norton Priory in Runcorn.

Abbasolutely Live, a tribute band honouring the Swedish supergroup, will entertain punters in the priory’s Walled Garden on Saturday, June 20.

Age Concern, event organisers, are inviting guests to bring along a picnic and relax in the tranquil surroundings as they sing-a-long and dance the night away.

Abba and 70s-themed fancy dress is also encouraged.

Cash raised on the night will be donated to Age Concern - the event organisers.

The Georgian-style garden is two and a half acres and has an orchard, fruit and vegetable gardens, ornamental borders, an ice house and a wild flower meadow.

Katie Cartwright, Age Concern Cheshire event fundraiser said: “The event is really set to be an evening not to miss.

“The quality of the performers is outstanding, and the Walled Garden at Norton Priory is truly one of Cheshire’s jewels.

“Who wouldn’t want to sit back in such a beautiful setting, enjoying great food, good wine and fantastic music?”

Jackie Wilkinson, Age Concern business development manager, added: “Abbasolutely Live sound brilliant and people are going to dress up so hopefully we’ll have a really good time. I’m going dressed as a hippy.

“The show will go on till about 10pm and then people will probably sit round drinking and chatting till a bit later with some background music on.

“Hopefully about 300 people are going to come from all over Cheshire to enjoy themselves.”

Doors open at 5.30pm and music is expected to start at 6.30pm.
