PUPILS tried valiantly to keep their cool during a timed cook-off at the County High School, Leftwich.
They were taking part in the finals of Rotary’s Young Chef competition, for which they prepared a two course meal for two, for under £6.
A large screen in the hall with a web link to the Food Technology room allowed spectators to watch as the young chefs prepared their meals.
Winners were Hazel Grove High School foll- owed by Weaverham High School in third place.
The same evening the school hosted the finals of Rotary’s Young Designer competition.
Two of the four prizes on offer went to the County High with Gareth Forster awarded the Resistant Materials prize and Rebecca Howarth the textiles prize.
