A SERIES of road crashes caused traffic chaos on the M6 today.
Several motorists were injured in four separate crashes within minutes of each other between junctions 22 and 23 near Newton-le-Willows.
Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to the crash sites within a mile of each other at around 10.15am.
A 39-year-old man suffered a suspected broken leg in one, and a woman was treated for neck injuries.
An ambulance spokesman said: "We are attending separate incidents. Most caused minor damage to the vehicles."
