WINSFORD Swimming Club has been awarded a grant of £10,000 toward an electronic timing system for the town’s new sports centre.
The bid was a joint submission from Winsford Swimming Club and Vale Royal Borough Council, and contributors included Arts Council England, the Big Lottery Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England.
The club is now looking to find another £10,000 through sponsorship to raise the necessary money for the equipment.
Cllr John Grimshaw, lead councillor for recreation, said: “The timing system will be a fantastic addition. It will enable the swimming club to host more galas, raising the profile of the club and the Lifestyle Centre in the borough.”
