Kate Knight is the latest in an ever increasing line of her family contributing to raising awareness and funds for Parkinsons UK.

She is inspired by the example of grandad John Knight, who lived with Parkinsons for the latter part of his life and was extremely proactive with the Chester branch of Parkinsons UK.

Kate is the latest to go the extra mile to help raise funds, joining dad, aunties, uncles and cousins who have all been volunteering for Parkinsons UK.

Recently she completed the Chester WalkforParkinsons event starting and finishing in Eccleston via the meadows, the walls and back along the Duke’s Drive.

Just turned 17, Kate is a student at West Cheshire College and works at GAP Outlet, Cheshire Oaks.

Her generous sponsors, including her employers matching whatever contributions she raises, kept her going through the afternoon’s downpour.

She finished soaked to the skin, followed home by her dad Chris, who was volunteering as designated back walker for the day, to help ensure all got home safe and sound.

A spokesman for Parkinsons UK said: “They may not be in shining armour but they are Knights by nature if not by title.”
