Although she got through the performance, to Shania Twain’s Man! I Feel Like a Woman with no mishaps, she was awarded just 33.0 out of 40 from the judges.

They commended the Olympic medallist’s efforts but told her told her they felt the performance was lacking, with Jason Gardner saying it looked ‘slightly cautious’.

But she was saved by the public vote and despite a demanding week, Beth told The Chronicle she was happy with her performance.

“It was a really tough week and to be honest I was just glad to stay on my feet and get through both routines,” she said.

“I only had a couple of hours training and there was times throughout the weekend where I wasn’t sure I was going to perform.

“Lukasz was so patient with me throughout the week and always looked on the positive side which really helped.

“It hasn’t made me any more nervous at all.

“Each week I take on the challenge and love it. I am still really enjoying it and just want to continue to do so,” she added.
