It was January 15 1975, hair was long, moustaches prominent, and Chester were playing host to Aston Villa in the League Cup semi final.

It was a two legged affair with Chester holding their more illustrious rival to a 2-2 draw at Sealand Road - according to reports 19,000 fans packed into the stadium.

The second leg at Villa Park, in front of more than 47,000, saw Chester go down to a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat - Villa went on to lift the cup.
