Did you ever dine at The Witches Cafe in the Frodsham Street car park? Back in 1973 it was quite the eatery.

Or perhaps you purchased a pram from the cycle shop on Brook Street in the 1960s. There are so many Chester shops and businesses that have come and gone over the years that you’ve probably forgotten some of these even existed.

Thanks to Chester History & Heritage Centre , we have some images of some familiar long, lost sights in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, including Slade’s Garage on Foregate Street pictured in 1964, the Deva Hotel on Watergate Street in the 1980s and Kwik Save in Queens Park in 1970.
