This week we’re taking a look back at a whole host of different memories of Chester past.

Included here are a couple of festive snaps of previous Christmases, including the time Santa visited the Children’s Ward at Chester Royal Infirmary in the 1930s, looking less than jolly, and staff from the GT Owens store on Brook Street preparing for Christmas in the 1960s.

Other images we can see here, courtesy of Chester History & Heritage Centre , include The Milk Bar on Lower Bridge Street pictured in 1960, and Delamere Street in 1964.

Chester Market is also pictured here at its former location on Northgate Street next to the Town Hall in the 1960s. It was demolished in 1967 to move to its current Princess Street location.

And do you remember when Delamere Street looked like this?
