Energetic fundraisers are being challenged to take on an obstacle course with a difference to help their local hospice.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd is looking for people to take on Rough Runner next month.

The event is taking place at Ashley Hall, Ashley Road, Altrincham, on Sunday, October 16 and offers participants the chance to take on the ultimate TV game show obstacles that have been on people’s screens for the last 20 years.

The Backford-based hospice is looking for people to take part in groups and help raise much needed funds to help the hospice offer the palliative care, complimentary therapy and bereavement support they do to the areas of Chester and Cheshire West.

Events fundraising manager at the hospice, Stefan Robertson, said: “Normally it’s more than £50 to take part in the Rough Runner event but the hospice is offering a reduced rate of £25 if people commit to raising £200 in sponsorship.”

Instead of the usual tough obstacle event, Rough Runner offers a teamwork filled fun challenge which gives you the opportunity to test yourself against the infamous travellator from Gladiators to the giant balls from Total Wipeout plus many more.

To sign up and help raise money for the hospice you can email events@hospicegs.com or phone their events team on 01244 851 811.

The hospice needs to raise more than £2.5m each year to provide its services and relies on

the generosity of the community as a whole to help raise this amount.
