FOUR youths who went on a drunken rampage down Tarporley High Street have apologised for committing numerous acts of vandalism and criminal damage.

The four locals had spent the evening of Tuesday, March 30 drinking before tearing up and down Tarporley High Street damaging cars, planters and both business and residential properties.

The youths aged between 14 and 18 knocked wing mirrors, broke a window, destroyed plants and plant pots, tipped over litter bins and damaged property.

Residents who were woken by the noise of the damage helped the police identify the youths.

Tarporley PC Ged Gigg said: “The youths have been spoken to and have all admitted their involvement and have apologised for their actions on the evening involved and also for the considerable upset that they have caused to the numerous victims and the impact that their behaviour has had on the wider Tarporley community.”

The four youths have all written letters of apology to the victims of the criminal damage and have agreed to undertake community service in the village as an apology.
