PEOPLE living in Crewe and Nantwich are being invited to submit their views online on new council arrangements in a pilot launched this week by the Boundary Committee for England.

Crewe and Nantwich Borough is one of only two areas chosen to test the new online service which the Committee hopes will encourage more people to have their say on proposed changes to local boundaries and council size.

The online form, which can be found at boundarycommittee.org.uk/our-work/ CreweFeedback, asks people to give their name, address and comment on the proposals outlined on the Boundary Committee for England's website (boundarycommittee.org.uk).

Once submitted, their views will become a crucial part of the evidence the Committee looks at during the current public consultation period, which runs until February 12, 2007. After this date the Committee's final recommendations will be published.

The Committee is seeking feedback on the following proposals:

* Increasing the size of Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council from 56 to 57 councillors.

* Amendments to improve electoral equality and strengthen ward boundaries in St John's, St Mary's, Willaston, Wistaston Green and Valley wards

* A mixture of single-member, two-member and three-member wards and boundaries based on 26 wards.

Archie Gall, director of the Boundary Committee for England, said: 'Views are vital to ensuring there is electoral equality in Crewe and Nantwich. I would especially like to hear the views of local people on the warding in the centre of Crewe around the existing Coppenhall, Delamere and Grosvenor wards.

'I would also welcome ideas on how to improve the boundaries and access within Nantwich, specifically in the area to the north of Hospital Street.'
