RAIL passengers in Chester are being given the chance to have their say on how the network is policed.

Officers from British Transport Police’s Chester Neighbourhood Policing Team will be hosting a special surgery at the city’s rail station on May 25, from 6-7pm, to find out what matters to rail users and staff.

Police Community Support Officer Angela Clark said: “The surgery is a great opportunity for people to chat with us, their local officers, and talk about problems they might have experienced on – or away from – the railway.

“We have excellent links with the train operators and Cheshire Police and are happy to discuss any issues which have an impact on people’s quality of life.

“Of course, there do not have to be any any burning issues to discuss, if you just want to talk to us about our role and what British Transport Police does then we will be more than happy to chat.”

The surgery is scheduled to take place almost a year to the day that neighbourhood policing was introduced to Chester’s railways.

PCSO Clark added: “During the past year we have established really strong links with communities across the area and have played a part in dealing with several issues brought to our attention.”
