THE Audit Committee which will provide independent assurance on the adequacy of financial management in the office of the police and crime commissioner and for Cheshire Constabulary is looking for members.

John Dwyer, police and crime commissioner for Cheshire, and the Chief Constable David Whatton wish to appoint five independent members of the public to carry out this role from September.

Three members will be appointed for five years and two for three years, with appointments five yearly after that. The committee will meet four times a year.

Shortlisting will take place on May 9 and interviews are planned for July 2.
