CHESTER Rocks is on the lookout for the hottest new bands in the area.
Organisers of the music festival have announced plans to showcase local talent on its alternative stage over the festival weekend.
Local musical talent will have the chance to appear on the same bill as some of the biggest names in the music industry.
Festival director Mark Cowley, said: “This competition has come about because of the overwhelming response we’ve had from local musicians and bands in the area who wanted to get involved with Chester Rocks.
“We also feel it’s important to showcase the range of talent that exists in the area. We are on the lookout for young, up and coming performers to join us on this amazing bill. So don’t worry if you think your demo sounds rough.”
Organisers are looking for artists to perform on both days so as long as you fit between the indie – pop genre get in touch.
To enter you have to be an unsigned act, be able to play a live set lasting 20 minutes and have a three-track CD which includes at least one original song.
Send CD, short biography and contact details to Mark Cowley, The Racecourse, Chester CH1 2LY. Closing date is Tuesday, May 3.
