CHESTER Rocks is on the lookout for the hottest new bands in the area.

Organisers of the music festival have announced plans to showcase local talent on its alternative stage over the festival weekend.

The two day outdoor music festival takes place at the famous Chester Racecourse on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3, with artists ranging from punk legend Iggy Pop to pop superstar Taio Cruz.

The new festival looks set to become an integral part of the European summer musical calendar.
