The teaching staff and pupils of Treetops Foundation Stage Unit part of Duddon St Peter’s Primary School created a frozen paradise to give their new nursery buddies a heart-warming welcome.

The children came dressed as their favourite characters from the Disney film and enjoyed taking part in a range of fun-filled and educational activities including; experimenting with ice, making Olaf models, icing and decorating special biscuits and, of course, a Frozen sing-a-long.

Claire Knight, head of the foundation stage unit, said: “Days like this are so important. We always invite our newcomers, in addition to their settling-in sessions, and their parents too. This way on their first day they are already part of our Treetops family.”

To round off a super cool day all the children were invited to a cinema experience where they got to chill out and watch their favourite clips from the film, complete with popcorn.

Treetops is one of the few Foundation Stage Units in the area which brings together Nursery and Reception. It is an excellent learning environment for three-five year old children to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum at their own level.

Duddon St Peter’s C of E Primary School has an open door policy and welcome any interested parents who would like to visit.
