Seven fans have been banned from going to football matches for a total of 30 years after their behaviour at a Wrexham v Chester game sparked furious scenes.
Aidan Brannan of Hen Blas, Mold, was among those handed the ban.
The 21-year-old appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court this week and was given a four-year Football Banning Order and a four-week night time curfew for his actions at the racecourse match on August 31, which Wrexham lost 2-0.
He was also ordered to pay the court £85 costs, and a £60 victim surcharge.
Brannan admitted throwing a flare on to the pitch before the game started and waved an offensive banner referencing the death of a Chester fan.
Thirteen people were arrested after anger erupted between supporters at the match and seven of them this week pleaded guilty to a variety of public offences.
Brannan, along with Tomos Owain Roberts, Dean Pleavin, Jake Anthony Hughes, Christopher James West Craig Miller, all admitted displaying ‘writing/sign/visible representation with intent to cause harrasment/alarm or distress’.
Roberts, 23, of Chester Road, Wrexham, was making hanging gestures, shouting abuse and handling an offensive banner, the court heard.
District Judge Andrew Shaw gave him a five year Football Banning Order, a six weeks night time curfew between 9pm-6am, £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
As he sentenced him Judge Shaw said: “You were one of a number of offenders making light of somebody’s death. It was crass stupidity and grossly offensive.”
Pleavin 22, of Meadow Lea, Wrexham, was also making hanging gestures towards the Chester fans. He was handed a three year Football Banning Order, a £110 fine, £20 victim surcharge, and £85 costs.
Hughes, 21, of Trevanna Way, Wrexham, had wrapped a yellow hose pipe around his neck to simulate hanging which was directed towards the Chester fans.
He received a three year Football Banning Order, was fined £275, with a £25 victim surcharge, and £85 costs.
West, 24, of Mountain View, Brymbo, Wrexham, was also seen handling the banner and making hanging gestures towards the Chester fans.
Judge Shaw gave him a five year Football Banning Order, a five month night time curfew running from Friday to Sunday between 9pm-4am, with £85 costs, and a £60 victim surcharge.
Miller, 30, of Churton Drive Caia Park, Wrexham, was also seen handling the banner and making hanging gestures and had already had a Football Banning Order the court heard.
Judge Shaw handed him a fresh five year Football Banning Order, a six months night time curfew from Friday to Sunday running from 9pm to 4am with £85 costs, and a £60 victim surcharge.
Solicitors representing the defendants said they knew they had behaved stupidly and were remorseful for their actions.
Four others are pleading not guilty to a charge of displaying ‘writing/sign/visible representation with intent to cause harrasment/alarm or distress’.
Their cases will be heard at Wrexham Magistrates on December 17.
