CONSENT was granted for alterations to a grade two listed detached cottage.

The proposals were put forward at Mostyn Cottage, School Lane, Parkgate by Mr R Prescott, in the Parkgate Conservation Area, on a corner plot.

Mr Prescott told planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council he was seeking approval to rebuild the wall of a utility and to replace a roof with a slate roof. This would include a new roof light.

It was also proposed to underpin the cottage beneath an interior wall following recommendations by a structural engineer.

The work would enable the creation of an ensuite, officials explained.
