A FEMALE driver was taken to hospital after she was released by firefighters following a road accident.

The incident happened in Middle Lane, Kingsley, at the junction of Norley Road and Meeting House Lane about 9.30am today (Thursday).

Firefighters had to cut off the roof to rescue the woman from the car which had rolled over. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.

North West Ambulance Service said paramedics treated the 50-year-old woman for suspected spinal injuries but she had full mobility and was conscious.

She was taken by ambulance to the Countess of Chester Hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police closed Norley Road while the emergency services worked at the scene.
