A WOMAN is facing charges relating to trafficking and prostitution after being accused of managing brothels in Chester and Crewe.

Cai Hong Yang, 44, faced 22 separate charges at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

She was charged with managing brothels in Egerton Street and Albert Street, Chester as well as in Delamere Court, Crewe at various times during 2006 and 2007.

Yang, of Bideford Drive, Manchester, confirmed her details through an interpreter but did not respond to any of the charges.

She is also facing seven charges of controlling prostitution for gain, six of trafficking within the UK, two of benefit fraud, one of causing or inciting prostitution for gain, one of trafficking for sexual exploitation, one of possession of ketamine and one of possession of ecstasy.

The case was adjourned for three weeks to give her solicitor, Richard Thomas, time to go through the large amount of associated paperwork, which he estimated to be in the region of 2,000 pages.

Miss Yang has surrendered her passport and has been bailed to appear again on November 10.
