Police are appealing for information following a serious road accident near Northwich which has left a young man fighting for his life.
The collision, between a blue Vauxhall Corsa and a Ford Transit van, happened shortly after 6.30pm on Friday, December 9, on the A533 Davenham Bypass at the junction with Jack Lane near Moulton.
Serious injuries were suffered by the 18-year-old male Corsa driver, from Crewe, who was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital. His condition is currently described as critical but stable.
The Transit van driver was uninjured and following the collision he was arrested on suspicion of drug driving. The 33-year-old man, from Rudheath, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Investigating officer Sergeant Paul Marsh, from Cheshire Roads Policing Team, said: “The Davenham Bypass is a busy road and I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes that they may have seen the collision occur.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who believes that they may have seen any of the vehicles involved in the incident prior to the collision occurring.”
As a result of the incident, the road was closed from 6.40pm until shortly after 10.30pm on Friday evening.
