A BLACON man suffered serious facial injuries after he was attacked in the early hours of Saturday morning (December 4).
At around 2.20am on Saturday police were called to a report of an assault on Newgate Street.
The victim, who is a 27 year-old-man from Blacon, received significant facial injuries including a fractured eyesocket and broken jaw.
Shortly after police arrived at the scene, a 25-year-old man from Pontypridd, North Wales, was arrested on suspicion of assault.
He has been granted bail until 17 January pending further investigation into the incident.
