POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious car crash in Broxton on Friday.

Six vehicles were involved in the collision, which happened on the A534 at Broxton close to the junction with the A41, at 4.35pm on Friday.

The driver of a white Rover, a 23-year-old woman from Chirk near Wrexham, was airlifted to the Countess of Chester Hospital with multiple injuries. Her current condition is described as serious but stable.

A man from Crewe, who was driving a Scania tipper truck, received injuries to his lower limbs and was taken to Leighton Hospital where he is receiving treatment.

A 55-year-old man from Cholmondley, who was driving a Volkswagen, received injuries to his legs and is undergoing treatment at the Countess of Chester.

There were three other cars involved in the collision but no further reported injuries.

The road was closed between Carden Park and Broxton roundabout until 2.30am the following day to allow recovery of all vehicles involved and examine the scene.
