TWO men are gearing up for an ambitious charity bike ride – and they want people to join in.

Paul Hanks, 36, of Heswall and his future brother-in-law David Pye, 23, from Wallasey, will be cycling approximately 890 miles around the perimeter of Wales in 10 days from June 19.

Paul said: “Help for Heroes is a fantastic charity that does a lot to help our young men and women of the armed forces who have been injured in recent conflicts.

“On the last day of our ride, June 28, our troops will have been on active duty in Afghanistan for 2,821 days, hence our fundraising target of £2,821.”

The duo are planning to cycle 90 miles a day.

Paul added: “Before Christmas, neither of us had ridden further than a few miles, but since we made the decision to do this we have been in training to prepare for it.”
