STAFF and pupils at Wirral Grammar School for Girls are celebrating unprecedented success with their GCSE results.

A massive 99.4% of pupils gained at least five A*-C grades including English and maths with 29% gaining all A*/A grades, 66% of pupils gaining six or more A*/A grades. Of all pupils 97% gained two or more A*-C grades in science.

Eleven girls, Lauren Gould, Emily Leach, Katherine Lumley, Emma Nelson, Rachel Patel, Bryony Potter, Katherine Rosseinsky, Ruth Schwab, Helen Steiger, Aimee Triggs and Rachel Williams, are to be congratulated as they gained 10 A*s.

A further 35 girls also achieved A* or A grades in all of their subjects. They were Sophie Bowen Jones, Charlotte Buckley, Lauren Clarke, Lauren Davenport, Sarah Dodd, Eleanor Dougherty, Jessica Fenna, Rebekah Foard, Eve Greenall, Sarah Greenwood, Joanne Harrison, Charlotte Holland, Fatima Hayat, Hannah Horton, Hannah Hoyle, Ellyn Hughes, Sonika Jalota, Lucy Johnson, Janna Kirkby, Rebecca Lewis, Katy Liddell, Abbie McIver, Elizabeth McPeake, Faye Mulheirn, Anita Nandi, Clare Procter, Rebecca Rhodes, Rebecca Richards, Katie Ross, Rebecca Simpson, Rebecca Smith, Abigail Waites, Rachel Wheeler, Sally Wilson, Laura Young.

The headteacher, Elaine Cogan, congratulated all the girls on their results.

She said: “These results reflect the hard work and dedication of both pupils and staff and the fantastic support of parents and governors. They are well deserved and again reflect the high academic standards at Wirral Grammar School for Girls.”
