A TARPORLEY architecture firm has commissioned a famous artist to design one of the largest private contemporary stained- glass window works at a house in Kelsall.

Project Architecture and Management Ltd, based in Tarporley, commissioned artist Dale Devereux Barker to design the window called A sailing we will go.

The work was inspired by the commissioner’s love of sailing, a huge vessel fills the central panels of this 30ft-high artwork.

Architect Peter Catherall said: "Over ten years ago Dale and I discussed the concept of finding the right client to commission a property incorporating a major piece of Dale’s work that could be developed with the detail design. We had not found the right client until now."

Dale’s work has recently featured in a Yorkshire pub and brew house owned by Neil Morrissey and chef Richard Fox.
