Four people have been hospitalised tonight following a serious road traffic collision on Vincent Drive in Westminster Park (Monday September 8).

Police and three emergency ambulances, a rapid response team and an air ambulance were called to the scene of the accident which is believed to have happened around 6pm, and are currently still on the scene.

Three cars were involved in the collision.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said firefighters had to cut two women free from cars after a traffic collision involving three vehicles in Chester.  A man and two women were taken to hospital in Liverpool by air and road ambulance.  Another woman was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital with minor injuries.

A spokesperson from the North West Ambulance Service confirmed that one person has been taken to Aintree Hospital via heli-med, one person has been taken to the Royal  Liverpool Hospital and another has been taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.

Motorists are advised to avoid the Hough Green area as delays are expected.
