A DEDICATED team West Cheshire College are preparing to tackle three of the UK’s biggest peaks in May – all in the space of 24 hours.

Assistant Principal Ian Rimmington has rounded up a group of 14 willing volunteers to take part in this year’s 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for the Stroke Association.

In a period of just 24 hours the team will be attempting to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, starting in Scotland at 3am and ending in Wales in the early hours of the following day.

The team of tutors, managers and admin staff will be supported by other colleagues who are taking on the roles of drivers and cooks.

Mr Rimmington said: “Some of the team are keen and experienced walkers and for others this will be the first time they’ve tackled something on this scale. We’ve got a comprehensive training programme and we’ll be supporting each other so I’m sure everyone will finish the challenge.”
