CATERING and hospitality continue to be growth sectors for the Cheshire economy so to meet demand for skilled and qualified staff, West Cheshire College is holding an ‘Introduction to catering’ course during half term.
The course, which takes place at the College’s Handbridge Campus in Chester, will run from October 26 to 29 from 10am to 2.30pm.
Among the topics covered by the course will be food presentation, knife skills, customer care, health and safety, CV building and interviews skills.
Hospitality and Catering Manager Sam Stevens said: "It’s a mixture of practical skills and information sessions designed to give attendees a good overview of the types of works available, and types of skills needed, in the industry.
"Cheshire’s visitors and tourists are essential to the local economy which means that the hospitality and catering industry continues to blossom.
"That means it’s essential visitors to the area receive a level of service that is second-to-none so they have a good experience when they are here and leave with a good impression."
