An acting student from West Cheshire College has secured a place at one of the most prestigious drama schools in the UK.

George Price, 19, from Chester, who achieved a distinction in his BTEC extended diploma in acting Level 3 at the Ellesmere Port campus, is now following his dreams to become an actor in London.

George, who has gained a place at the prestigious Mountview Drama School, said: “I decided to study acting at West Cheshire College as it is something I have always been passionate about since I was young.

“The college offered me a fantastic insight into the industry – I got to perform on stage and was involved in various workshops, I also gained skills in a range of acting and performance styles, as well as directing and script writing.

“I am highly passionate about acting and drama and West Cheshire College made me believe in myself even more. My favourite part about acting is that you get to become a character and play a completely different life to your own. It is always really interesting and it’s great to interpret the character in your own personal style.

“I have now gained a place at Mountview Drama School in London, where I will study a BA (hons) in acting. It really is a dream come true. I hope to become a successful actor in the future; I couldn’t have got here without the support from the tutors Paul Moss and Alex Durrant. They are both amazingly talented at what they do and they push you so you can achieve so much more, I am extremely grateful.”

Paul Moss, course leader at West Cheshire College, added: “George’s drive and determination has really paid off and got him to where he is today; he is a team player and a hard worker and I know he will have even more success to come.”

George’s success was among the ‘many fantastic achievements” from the students on the course this year.
