After a closure of more than four hours, the Welsh Road was reopened in Ledsham.

But temporary traffic lights have resulted in long queues at the Two Mills junction as traffic flows slower than normal on Tuesday morning (January 26).

A multi-car crash had caused the A550 to be blocked in both directions and it was shut from about 7.30pm on Monday.

Cheshire Police were able to reopen the road, a major commuter route to and from Chester, once the incident had been cleared at 11.45pm.

The temporary lights have replaced main signals, which are believed to have been damaged in the crash.

Motorists using both the Welsh Road and the A540, Parkgate Road, are warned to expect delays.
