AN ANNUAL event which offers people the chance to meet contemporary artists in their studios is underway.

Almost 70 artists are taking part in the 10th Cheshire Open Studios festival which enables people to meet the artists and discover how and where they produce their work.

If something catches their eye, they can buy it and take it home.

Tarvin artist Caroline Gregson of Andrews Close was among artists taking part in and around Chester last weekend.

Caroline produces willow sculpture and contemporary basketry and challenges preconceptions.

The event continues until October 6/7 when other studios around the county will be throwing open their doors.

Some will also be open on the first weekend in December for Christmas present shopping.
