IT WAS all happening at St Mary’s Centre at the weekend.
God created the world on Saturday morning and then destroyed it with a flood on Sunday afternoon.
Adam and Eve met for the first time and Lucifer, God’s brightest light, was cast out of heaven.
And were the cast just having fun or were they actually rehearsing when they were singing pub songs.
The first rehearsals of the Chester Mystery Plays were extraordinary.
Cast members threw themselves into the process with energy and enthusiasm impressing the director, Peter Leslie Wild, with their talent and commitment.
“I knew it would be good to finally get started,” said Peter. “But I was just blown away by it all. If things carry on like this the production will be unbelievable!”
Cat Stobbs, who plays Lightborne, added: “It’s been brilliant this weekend. I’m so excited to be a part of it!”
Some of the cast members travelled over from Liverpool. “We’re thrilled at being involved,” said Ann Mardell.
“And I could hardly believe it when Matt (Baker, music director) and Peter asked to be a pub singer in the production.
“It will be wonderful to sing in front of all those people in the Cathedral!”
Today, the musicians will be getting together for the first time.
