WEAVER VALE 5.15AM: Conservatives win Weaver Vale

AFTER a closely fought contest, Tory Graham Evans has beaten Labour’s John Stockton in Weaver Vale.

The seat had been held by Labour’s Mike Hall since it was created in 1997.

But as one of the key target seats for the Tories, it became a significant battle ground which eventually went to Mr Evans with a majority of little more than 1,000.
