WAVERTON carnival was crammed full of music, mountain bikes and merriment.

The parade was full of youngsters all dressed up and was followed by the crowning of this year’s rose queen.

The crowd were entertained by TV choir a Handbag of Harmonies, the Pantonic Steel Orchestra and Batala band. There was also a motorbike display, racing cars and a giant slide.

The highlight of the carnival was the arrival of a 17-strong local cycle team who had cycled from Marble Arch.

Geoff Lawson from Waverton said: “The team called 41in41 because they tracked the A41 in 41 hours.

“Sponsorship is for a men's and kids room at the Save the Family centre.”
