If you're on the roads in Cheshire today (March 31), you need to make sure you steer clear of this huge lorry as it passes through the county.

The abnormal load is being transported from Kelsall and will travel along the A54, A51, A5032 and A5117 roads before joining the M53 at junction 10 near Cheshire Oaks .

From there, the giant wagon will travel past junction nine for Ellesmere Port and the Stanlow Refinery , before coming off at junction eight near Overpool.

It will be escorted by police as it makes its ultra-slow journey across Cheshire.

Cheshire Police took to Twitter to warn motorists of potential traffic problems during the exercise.

The force also shared a video of a similar abnormal load being transported in 2014.

The police wrote this morning: “Our #AbnormalLoad moves off shortly from A54 Kelsall. Route is A54 onto A51. Join A41 at Vicars Cross. Then A5032, A5117 and M53 J10-8.

“If you are on the roads in this area you may be delayed slightly by the #abnormalload.”
