Money raised by kind-hearted people from all over the world has now been transferred to a hospital in the USA ready for Chester schoolgirl Erin Cross to receive the lifesaving treatment she so desperately needs.

Erin's family have finally been given the long-awaited news that the five-year-old is now medically eligible to undergo Car T Cell Therapy at Seattle Children's Hospital which will put her in remission from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, making her eligible for a bone marrow transplant, which is Erin's only hope of survival.

In an astonishing show of support, the public raised the £140,000 needed for Erin's treatment in just a matter of days, and the Cross family from Upton are now waiting for the payment to clear before they get her treatment schedule.

It is finally some good news for Erin's parents Sarah and Antony, who have spent the last few months at Erin's bedside at Alder Hey Children's Hospital ever since she relapsed in March.

Since then, the Chester community and local schools have shown an incredible amount of support for the little girl - raising thousands of pounds through the hundreds of different fundraising events that have been organised.

As the Cross family now prepare to take Erin to America, Sarah wrote on Erin's Facebook page:

"Everybody out there that has supported Erin and raised funds or donated has helped make this happen.

"Everybody that is working behind the scenes supporting Team Erin has helped make this happen. Every school, business, hospital, community centre, nursery, church and charity that has helped in any way has helped to make this happen."

She added: "We couldn't have achieved this without you all, so we'd just like to say a huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

And Erin herself even took the time to make a special video to say thank you to everyone for their generosity.
