BOROUGH councillors will have input into a proposed £60m waste treatment and energy recovery facility for Hooton Park.
Biossence has submitted a planning application for the plant to Wirral Borough Council, and copied the borough council in on it because of its close proximity to Ellesmere Port's boundary.
The firm wants to erect a waste recovery plant with heat and power plant, ancillary buildings, plant and external works at land adjacent to North Road.
Biossence says the plant will help divert hundreds of thousands of tonnes of waste from landfill sites and prevent local councils incurring stiff Government penalties in the future.
It will also create around 100 new jobs for Ellesmere Port, Neston and Wirral.
The scheme is to be debated upon and decided in the coming months.
